Apex Legends Fixes Steam Settings Resets and Reduces Fast Draw Bonuses
A small update addresses a persistent PC inconvenience alongside two Wild Card adjustments.

Apex Legends Settings Update
Apex Legends' October 2 update addresses a frustrating Steam-specific problem: settings resetting every time the game is launched again. Respawn says the issue largely affected players with unusual folder structures or installation locations, and was most commonly seen in APAC.
The same update reduces two benefits of the Fast Draw Wild Card. It is a compact patch, but the settings fix is potentially more noticeable in everyday use than its size suggests.
What the Steam Fix Covers
The official October 2 notes report the relaunch-reset issue as resolved. They do not say that every possible settings problem on every platform has been fixed, and they do not prescribe deleting local configuration files.
To check the behavior on your own installation, let the update finish, change a harmless setting, quit normally and relaunch. That tests the symptom described by the patch without introducing another variable by moving the installation or deleting files.

Fast Draw Loses Some of Its Time-Saving Benefit
The reload-time reduction moves from 35% to 25%, while the consumable-use reduction moves from 50% to 25%. Both effects still reduce the relevant time; they simply provide less of a reduction than before.
Those figures describe the benefit, not a flat amount of time added to every action. For example, a 25% reduction leaves 75% of a hypothetical unmodified duration. Actual comparisons depend on the action and any other relevant game rules. Treat the patch numbers as the starting point, rather than translating them into an unsupported claim about every weapon.
If the Reset Still Happens, Record the Conditions
A useful bug report would note the installed game version, the Steam installation location and whether the reset followed a normal exit or a crash. A before-and-after screenshot of the affected setting can also make the report easier to understand.
We have not reproduced the issue across different PCs, so this is a report of Respawn's fix, not a claim that we independently validated every installation layout. The immediate takeaway is narrower: an affected Steam player has an official fix to test, while Fast Draw users should expect smaller reload and consumable bonuses.
