How Steam Library Value Is Calculated
Fetch Owned Games
We retrieve your complete Steam game library via the Steam API, including all owned apps and their recorded playtime.
Get Store Prices
Each game's current price is pulled from the US Steam store. Discounted sale prices are used when active to reflect real current value.
Calculate Total Value
Paid game prices are summed to give your total estimated library value in USD. Free games are excluded from the value total.
All pricing is based on the US Steam store (USD). Prices may differ from your regional Steam store. Steam profile game details must be set to Public to retrieve library data.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is my Steam library value calculated?
Your library value is calculated by summing the current US Steam store prices of all paid games in your library. Free games are counted separately but not included in the total value. Discounted prices are used when a game is currently on sale.
Why do some games show no price?
Some games may have been removed from the Steam store, are region-restricted, or have no price data available through the Steam API. These games are counted in your library but marked as unavailable for pricing and excluded from the total.
Does this tool need my Steam password?
No. This tool only reads publicly available Steam data using your SteamID64 or profile URL. Your Steam account must have its game details set to Public in Steam's privacy settings.
What is a SteamID64?
A SteamID64 is a unique 17-digit number identifying your Steam account (e.g. 76561198012345678). You can find it by visiting your Steam profile and looking at the URL, or by using our Steam ID Finder tool.
Why are prices shown in USD?
Steam prices vary by region. To provide consistent, comparable values this tool uses the US Steam store (USD) as the reference market — the same approach used by most Steam value trackers.
Is my total playtime accurate?
Yes — playtime data comes directly from Steam's API and reflects your actual recorded playtime per game. Recently played time (last 2 weeks) is also shown when available.
