ZUSI 3 - Aerosoft Edition puts you in the virtual cab as a train driver, with its focus on realistic railway operations rather than a simplified ride. Its routes reproduce track layouts, signalling and timetables, while driving and braking behaviour accounts for factors such as air resistance, curve resistance and tilting. The result is a simulation built around operating a train within a larger railway system.
A timetable scenario gives the driving its wider context: many other trains run at once under autopilot, and their movements influence one another. You control your own service, using keyboard and mouse or driver’s desk hardware, and work with German train protection systems including PZB and LZB. Adjustable assistance lets beginners use less strict protection settings, while experienced hobby drivers can engage with more demanding simulation detail.
The edition includes routes from different eras, including Cologne–Düsseldorf, and the network can be expanded with additional routes, vehicles and timetables. Editors also let users build and share their own additions.
