Zombie Driver HD combines arcade driving with zombie combat in a free-roaming city. Its story campaign sends players on varied missions, from defending targets against waves of undead to racing against time to rescue survivors and transporting dangerous cargo. Boss fights against enormous mutated zombies add another kind of obstacle, while a roster of vehicles includes a fire truck, bulldozer and tank. The result is an action game in which driving is both the way through the city and a means of fighting back.
The other modes reshape that premise into focused challenges. Blood Race is a tournament with three event types: conventional racing with weapons and zombies, a timed vehicle-destruction contest, and checkpoint racing while a bomb threatens to end the run. Slaughter instead places players in survival arenas against endless zombie waves, with car upgrades available during the fight. Weapons such as miniguns, flamethrowers and rocket launchers, alongside a dynamic combo system, give the combat its arcade emphasis.
Its modes offer distinct ways to approach the same core combination of vehicles, weapons and zombie-filled action.
