ZERO Sievert casts you as a hunter scavenging a fictional, post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe. The bunker is your base between excursions, with traders, weapon-modification stations, and spaces to develop. Outside, each trip is a risky search for equipment and supplies: you must contend with bandits and altered wildlife, then make it back alive. That loop of preparation, exposure, and extraction gives the game its central tension.
Its procedurally generated maps vary in layout, weather, hiding places, and loot locations, asking you to adapt rather than rely on an identical route each time. Gear choices add another layer: more than 50 guns can be customized with 150 mods, while weapon skills and hunter perks develop as you survive. Quests, factions, reputation, crafting, trading, and base upgrades give scavenged items uses beyond the immediate run. The Steam Workshop also supports community-created additions, including weapons, factions, characters, and quests.
Each player is working through excursions, equipment decisions, and progression in their own wasteland campaign. Its appeal rests on the repeated gamble of going out better prepared, finding something worth carrying home, and surviving the return.
