Yargis - Space Melee casts players as a pilot defending Earth in 3013, after the previously unknown Mukka begin attacking. Its top-down spaceship combat centers on close-range, team-based action, with momentum and gravity shaping how ships move. Explosions can push a craft, and firing a weapon can affect it too, so combat involves managing motion as well as aiming.
Ship customization gives that handling a personal edge: players can earn money and experience in single-player or multiplayer, then use them to acquire ships, weapons, items, and granular ship-part upgrades. The game pairs its 29-level story with competitive and cooperative formats, including King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, Prison Break, and Base Conquer. Players can compete online, over a LAN, or on the same computer, and can also face computer-controlled opponents offline.
Its level editor adds another creative dimension, combining drag-and-drop placement with Lua scripts; created levels can be shared through a local or dedicated online server. Together, combat physics, flexible play formats, and level creation define the game more specifically than its broad genre labels do.
