Yakuza Kiwami 2 follows Kazuma Kiryu after an assassination pulls him back into the Tojo Clan’s orbit. He travels to Osaka to seek peace between rival clans, facing Ryuji Goda, the Dragon of Kansai, as conflict threatens the life Kiryu had built with Haruka. That personal stake gives the crime drama a clear tension: Kiryu wants to leave this world behind, but events draw him back into it.
Combat centers on close-quarters brawling, with combo attacks, powerful heat actions and takedowns that use the surroundings. The description presents fights as both forceful and strategic, while intuitive controls aim to make the action approachable. Away from combat, Kamurocho and Sotenbori offer a different rhythm through restaurants, bars and activities including karaoke, cabaret, batting cages and blackjack. This contrast between street fights and entertainment districts is a defining part of the game’s design.
The single-player story is accompanied by the separate Majima Saga, which follows Goro Majima in events between Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2.
