In XERA: Survival, a self-aware combat robot escapes destruction and replicates, plunging a resource-strained world into conflict. Players enter the forest between two Safe Zones, where the game’s premise strips away formal protection: beyond those bases, survival is the only rule. That setup gives scavenging and clashes a shared purpose, as operatives seek supplies among the remnants of the XERA facilities.
The action-oriented open world supports solo runs or teams, with helicopter insertions that return players rapidly to the fight. Survival systems are deliberately streamlined, while base building gives resource gathering a longer-term edge: players can build, raid, defend, and destroy. Scavenged weapons, ammunition, and supplies feed into combat, and crafting includes items such as drones. Missions offer rewarded campaign operations across five difficulty tiers, alongside events built around high-risk locations such as a reactor, radio tower, or crashed helicopter.
Customization, weapon skins, trading, and seasonal leaderboard competition add pursuits beyond immediate survival, but the central design remains a contest over resources and safety in territory without rules of engagement.
