Worms Clan Wars keeps the series’ classic two-dimensional gameplay in high-definition 3D surroundings, pairing comic destruction with tactical turns. Its arsenal includes 65 weapons and utilities, while four improved worm classes bring different special abilities to the battlefield. Landscapes span five settings, from Inca to Prehistoric, and changing lighting adds another visual dimension to those arenas.
The game’s format reaches beyond head-to-head battles. Multiplayer includes Deathmatch and Fort modes, and clan features let players form teams, create emblems, appoint leaders and officers, and enter leagues. WormNET provides lobbies, chat channels, and a place to look for games. Solo play has its own identity: 25 story missions use physics-based contraptions, with challenges that include navigating swinging rope bridges and rescuing allies from traps. Ten Worm-Ops missions add time-attack play.
Customisation is also part of its design, with more than 200 items for worms and Steam Workshop support for sharing user-made outfits and landscapes. Together, these systems frame Clan Wars as a strategy game where turn-based combat sits alongside creation, cooperation, and competition.
