World War 2: Time of Wrath is a historical strategy game covering Europe and North Africa from 1939 to 1948. Players can take command of any country, or choose combinations of nations, within a setting shaped by shifting alliances and historical events. Its detailed orders of battle and broad map give the conflict a grand-strategy frame, while the simplified economy is intended to keep attention on military operations.
The campaign unfolds in weekly strategic turns, with land and air combat alongside naval warfare. Players manage supply, fleets, convoys and raiders, and contend with weather and fog of war; air reconnaissance can help reveal concealed areas. Diplomacy centers on the Axis, Allies and Comintern, with actions that can affect when countries enter the war. Research, historical commanders, sieges and amphibious preparations add further layers to the military planning.
Time of Wrath supports single-player play as well as hot-seat and play-by-email formats, so it can be approached alone or through turn-taking with other players.
