Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a free-to-play World War II first-person shooter built around team objectives rather than a succession of disconnected firefights. Players take the side of the Axis or Allies and battle across six maps based on real-world locations. That campaign framing gives each match a larger purpose: success depends on working together to complete the objectives required for victory.
Its five classes give teammates distinct roles in that effort. Engineers, Medics, Soldiers, Field Ops, and Covert Ops bring different class identities to a squad, while the objective-based format makes cooperation central to play. The combination of class choice, opposing factions, and map-specific goals distinguishes Enemy Territory from a shooter focused only on individual eliminations.
The game supports multiplayer matches of up to 32 players, while the documented official vanilla servers use Campaign rules and a maximum of 16 players. This team-based format gives player-count figures useful context: they relate to a competitive, objective-led game whose experience is organized around opposing sides and coordinated squads, not simply the number of people in a lobby.
