Witchspire casts its players as chosen witches trying to stop corruption from spreading across a handcrafted open world. Its adventure blends exploration and survival with a shared purpose: uncover the mystery of the Witchspire while growing stronger and contending with ancient creatures, falling meteors and the corruption beneath the surface.
Survival takes a distinctly magical form. Witches can summon forests to obtain timber, leap up ledges with spirit jumps, blink away from attacks and dispatch magical pickaxes to gather resources. Hunger is not a threat, but collected materials can replenish and bolster a character’s power. Battles also feed into progression: defeated wilderness creatures yield spirits that can be gathered, then nurtured into familiars whose growth supports different play styles.
The design joins cooperative exploration with personal development and creative building. A branching tech tree, character levelling, crafting options, outfits and abilities give witches varied ways to develop, while joining a coven connects them to groups such as the Cloudpiercers or Foretellers. Astral projection frees builders from gravity as they shape a home for their coven.
