Wingspan adapts the award-winning board game into a strategy card game about building wildlife preserves. You take the role of a bird enthusiast, working to discover and attract birds to your network of habitats. Its calm nature theme is paired with competitive goals: make your preserves more effective and accumulate points through birds, bonus cards, and end-of-round objectives.
Birds are the heart of the game’s engine-building design. Each one extends a chain of combinations within a habitat, and adding birds improves your ability to lay eggs, draw cards, or gather food. Their powers also draw on real-world behavior: hawks hunt, pelicans fish, and geese flock. The presentation complements those mechanics with animated birds and recordings of their calls, giving the card-driven strategy a distinct natural-history character.
Wingspan supports solo play as well as multiplayer competition, with play for up to five.
