Windblown casts players as Leapers racing across the ruins of a world threatened by the Vortex. Developed by Motion Twin, the action roguelite puts speed and aggression at the center of its combat: dash, strike and chain abilities together to keep momentum and overwhelm enemies. Its islands shift between challenges, foes and bosses, giving each run a changing battlefield to navigate.
Build-crafting shapes the fighting style. Players dual-wield weapons with distinct movesets, combine them with Alterattacks, and tailor a loadout with trinkets, passive upgrades, hexes and mobility skills. Defeat is part of the design rather than a dead end: runs yield resources to unlock weapons, powers and upgrades at the Ark, while learning enemy patterns can inform the next attempt. The Ark also offers a hub between runs.
Windblown supports solo play and online co-op for up to three players, so its player-count context spans both individual runs and coordinated group combat. Friends can combine builds to face formidable foes together, while the same core premise and progression also support playing alone. That flexible format is central to the game’s identity: fast, repeatable action with room to experiment, regroup and return to the Vortex.
