Set in 1998, Whisper Mountain Outbreak traps players on Mt. Bisik after a mining operation disturbs an ancient ruin and a mysterious fog brings whispers and monsters. This is an isometric co-op PvE survival horror game built around escaping together, with abandoned buildings, scarce supplies and a hostile mountain shaping the journey.
The group must withstand waves of monsters with melee and ranged weapons, scavenge resources, and use herbs to recover health. Cooperation also matters beyond combat: players can share scarce supplies, rescue downed teammates and communicate through proximity voice chat. Keys, locked doors and puzzles stand between the survivors and escape, while skills and crafted items help prepare for harder missions. At the start of each run, players choose among six classes with distinct perks and skills, giving the team different ways to approach its challenges.
Its visual style pairs 2D pixel characters with 3D low-poly environments, while fog, confined rooms, limited visibility and eerie whispers cultivate a claustrophobic atmosphere.
