Whiskerwood is a single-player strategy and simulation game about mice establishing colonies on resource-rich islands under demanding cat overlords. Players must meet the cats’ demands while providing food, shelter, and other essentials for their own residents, shaping a colony around the tension between external obligations and mouse welfare. The single-player format makes this a colony-management experience rather than a shared settlement.
Space is limited, so construction can extend upward, into cliffs, or below ground as players develop housing and industry. Individual mouse traits and guilds influence work and preferences, making assignments part of the planning. Production chains turn gathered resources into manufactured goods, and conveyors, ramps, elevators, and slides help move materials around the settlement. Healthcare, heating, maintenance, and logistics also require attention as the city expands.
Ships take the colony beyond its island for trade, salvage, and encounters with pirate havens; fleets can help protect supply lines. Climate and terrain shape decisions too, from safeguarding winter stores to matching crops with suitable conditions.
