We Were Here Together turns an Antarctic emergency into a two-person rescue mission. After a distress flare signals trouble, two explorers leave their research base and cross frozen wastes toward its source. Their route leads into Castle Rock, where the partners are separated and must find their way through a haunted medieval fortress. The unfolding mystery includes the castle’s dark history and the Jester, a sinister presence whose identity remains in question.
The central challenge is communication, not simply searching rooms side by side. Each player has a walkie-talkie, and progress depends on describing surroundings and explaining discoveries well enough for a distant partner to act on them. Observation and clear teamwork are essential as the pair tackles a series of puzzles in the style of a cooperative escape room. The game is co-op only, and both players need an internet connection and a working PC-compatible microphone.
Its journey moves among the expedition base camp, Antarctic valleys, and Castle Rock, combining environmental exploration with communication-led problem solving. For returning players, the game also offers more puzzles, longer play time, new mechanics, and further story about the expedition and the castle.
