In We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie, the Prince’s task begins after the King of the Cosmos accidentally destroys the stars. He rolls a katamari across Earth, gathering objects until it grows large enough to restore the night sky. The premise turns a cosmic repair job into a playful, hands-on pursuit of size, with the King’s fans providing further wishes for the Prince to fulfill.
The central rule gives each stage its own small puzzle: the katamari cannot pick up anything larger than itself, so players must plan the order in which they sweep through objects. A route might start with paper clips and snacks, then progress to telephone poles, buildings, people, and animals as the ball expands. Rolling is straightforward, but choosing what to collect next is the game’s defining bit of strategy.
This remaster refreshes the graphics and in-game interface, while Royal Reverie adds five challenges in which players roll as the King during his youth. A selfie mode also lets the Prince and his cousins take photos while rolling through stages.
