Ways of Alchemy is a medieval card game and alchemist simulator built around the rise from novice potion-maker to influential master. Its setting puts alchemy under pressure from authorities and the Inquisition, so prosperity and danger sit side by side.
Potion-making combines dependable recipes with experimentation: follow a grimoire for reliable results or take risks with ingredient combinations. More than 100 ingredients connect to five pillars of reality, while the game describes over 35 potions to brew. Beyond the cauldron, players manage an estate, hire hands, and grow their reputation among buyers, balancing influence against officials such as the Tax Inspector and the Inquisition.
The wider progression links alchemy to expeditions and branching outcomes. Players send adventurers across five regions on quests, equipping them with potions and artifacts in pursuit of treasures, recipes, and books. Fifteen subclasses offer different paths, including pure alchemy and forbidden arts, and choices shape one of 13 endings. Together, estate management, crafting, and delegated exploration give this single-player game a broader simulation-and-RPG structure than its card-game label alone might suggest.
