Wasteland 3 casts you as the commander of a Desert Ranger squad in a post-nuclear struggle to keep Arizona alive. A radio call from Colorado’s self-proclaimed Patriarch offers aid in exchange for rescuing his territory from the ambitions of his three children. The mission carries the Rangers from desert heat into snowy mountains, where they must contend with rival factions and a society shaped by corruption and conflict.
Its battles are tactical and turn-based, built around a customizable squad of up to six Rangers. Perks and abilities let you tailor those characters to your preferred approach, while a personal battle truck can be upgraded and armed to support fights. Between combat encounters, the story reacts to choices: decisions affect Colorado, its inhabitants and the narrative, with ethical dilemmas threaded through the struggle over whom to trust.
