Warm Snow casts players as the warrior Bi-an, investigating a supernatural disaster in the 27th Year of the Longwu Era. The snow that falls is warm, refuses to melt, and drives those who breathe it in to madness, transforming them into monsters. Against a backdrop of social injustice, Bi-an’s journey is framed as a search for the phenomenon’s truth and a way to end the darkness.
Combat centers on flying swords that can be directed with different attributes and attack modes, while Relics can boost them. The game also draws on roguelike design: six sects, varied Relics, and unpredictable weapons called excaliburs shape the available combinations, making each venture a fresh challenge. Players can choose how to develop their character by assigning talent points, and randomly dropped Memory Fragments reveal pieces of the world’s hidden history, including secrets tied to the Five Great Clans.
Its mix of directed sword combat, flexible progression, and fragmented storytelling gives the bleak investigation a distinct action-roguelike structure.
