Frontier’s real-time strategy game casts players as warlords fighting for survival and dominance in the savage Realm of Ghur. Its campaign follows a cinematic, character-driven story of desperate conflict, with four factions represented: the Stormcast Eternals, Orruk Kruleboyz, Nighthaunt and Disciples of Tzeentch. That mix gives the setting more than one perspective, pairing righteous champions with villainous leaders.
Battles are only part of the design. In multiplayer, players can face off in 1v1 or 2v2 matches, combining human and AI participants, with cross-platform play and a competitive 1v1 ladder. The single-player Eternal Conquest mode sends players through procedurally generated wildlands and unpredictable combat scenarios, with changing conditions and a choice between pressing toward victory or taking on more battles to pursue a high score.
Realms of Ruin also invites players to shape how its battles and armies look. A map editor uses the tools employed to create the game’s existing maps, while army painting and a scene editor support personalized forces and shareable dioramas. Together, its campaign, competitive matches, replayable Conquest runs and creative tools frame Realms of Ruin as a strategy game built around both commanding factions and making the setting your own.
