Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge turns the grim dark future of the 41st Millennium into a free-to-play collectible card game. Players choose among ten Warhammer 40,000 factions available from the start, each with a starter deck, and build toward a preferred style while earning rewards through the in-game campaign system. Its setting is carried into battles through faction artwork, voice acting, and dialogue options for the Warlords.
Combat puts the Warlord on the front line, where it actively engages enemy units. Units can attack at range or in melee, while factions bring their own rules to the clash: Orks launch Mob attacks, Tyranids swarm together, and Necrons reanimate troops. The result is a card battler shaped around the different fighting identities of its armies, rather than only a shared set of generic units and attacks.
The battlefield itself can shift during a match. The player going first chooses when to attack, triggering environmental effects that affect both players and alter the scenario, so the terrain adds another strategic consideration.
