Beneath Kronus’s central desert, excavations have disturbed a Necron necropolis, bringing an ancient menace into a struggle for control of the planet. Dark Crusade frames that conflict as a contest among seven races, with each pursuing its own campaign perspective rather than following a single fixed protagonist.
Its non-linear single-player campaign lets players choose a race and conquer Kronus, taking rival strongholds through challenging battles on maps associated with those locations. The game also introduces the Tau and Necrons as playable races, while hero weapons, items, and abilities can be customized as that character grows. Army insignias, squad colors, banners, and names provide further personalization.
Dark Crusade also supports online multiplayer across twelve new maps, with up to eight players battling for supremacy.
