Walkabout Mini Golf VR brings the familiar aim of sinking a putt into carefully crafted, oversized settings. Its courses contain 18 holes apiece, linked so players can explore beyond the putting line, look for hidden golf balls and experiment with trick shots using the environment. The appeal is not only the score: each course is designed as a place to wander through as well as a mini-golf challenge.
Putting is built around natural-feeling controls and realistic physics, with teleport and smooth locomotion options. Players can practice at a driving range and practice green, and customize avatars with a wide range of combinations. The game also supports solo play and online matches; private rooms can host up to eight players, with voice chat and cross-platform play. These options give the putting a social setting without making competition the only way to enjoy a course.
A distinctive twist comes after completing a course: Hard Mode alters every hole, sometimes redesigning it substantially, and changes the course’s look. Its Foxhunts lead toward specialized commemorative putters, while more than 250 collectible balls reward searching across the courses. Together, these features make exploration and revisiting familiar layouts central to the experience, adding fresh challenges beyond a straightforward round of miniature golf.
