VIVE Hub is a VR utility that brings together VIVE Streaming, VIVE Desk, and VIVE Ultimate Tracker setup. Rather than centering on a conventional game premise, it provides tools for using PC content in VR, arranging a virtual workspace, and configuring tracking hardware.
Streaming supports wired DisplayPort and USB Type-C connections as well as Wi-Fi. The documented trade-offs make the connection choice part of the setup: DisplayPort offers high bandwidth and direct graphics-card processing, while Wi-Fi allows movement without a cable, with quality potentially limited by the network. VIVE Desk adds a VR desktop workspace with up to three customizable screens, and lets users see their hands, mouse, and keyboard in the real world while in VR.
Tracker setup extends the utility beyond streaming and desktop use. VIVE Hub can pair VIVE Ultimate Trackers with third-party SteamVR-supported headsets and display tracker details including battery life and firmware versions.
