Vital Shell is a science-fantasy top-down arena shooter that casts familiar fantasy archetypes as mechs. Its PSX-era visual style and ambient jungle soundtrack frame battles in desolate, dreamlike settings, where relentless enemy waves set the pace. Runs are designed to move quickly, with a level’s boss reached in about 20 minutes. Across five stages, players level up between waves and choose weapons, abilities, and traits to shape each mech’s build.
