Visage is a first-person psychological horror game set in a huge, unsettling house marked by past tragedies. Its story is not delivered as a straightforward account: players piece together fragments of what happened through surreal imagery and subtle environmental details. Exploring the home means moving through gloomy corridors, dead rooms and disorienting mazes, with memories of former residents shaping the atmosphere.
Survival depends less on fighting than on coping with fear. The player is defenseless against the entities that stalk the house, but can pick up key items, interact with the environment and search for ways forward. Terror draws dark entities, while keeping the character’s mind as sane as possible is essential; staying in the light is one way to resist losing sanity. Death is part of the design, and the game deliberately builds tension at a slow pace rather than relying on constant action.
The focus is on atmosphere, environmental discovery and a difficult form of survival, not on cooperative or competitive play.
