Vertiginous Golf frames mini golf as a virtual escape from a rain-soaked, smogbound world. In its setting, the people of Scudburough are divided between the polluted streets below and New Lun-Donne, a floating city above the clouds. Those left behind can use the Verti-Sphere to play courses in that imagined paradise, while a story about a possible insurrection complicates the city’s official message of peace and prosperity.
On the green, players chip and putt through obstacle courses, with a mechanical hummingbird companion offering a way to explore and uncover secrets. A jewel-encrusted beetle can steer a moving ball, and limited rewind power offers a chance to recover from a poor shot. The game also combines story courses with classic holes, a driving range and race challenges, giving its golf a mix of narrative discovery and skill-focused play. A course editor lets players create and share their own designs.
The format accommodates solo play as well as local and online multiplayer, with courses playable by up to three friends. Race tracks turn putting into a contest to reach the finish, while battle golf arenas add weapons and fights over control of holes.
