Urban Myth Dissolution Center is an episodic mystery adventure about Azami Fukurai, a new employee investigating cases for a paranormal research organization. Its clients bring the Center cursed relics, strange creatures, and dimensional anomalies tied to urban myths from both online and offline life. Rather than treating every legend as plainly true or false, the game builds its premise around the uncertainty between rumor and the supernatural.
As Azami, players do detective legwork by gathering circumstantial evidence and social network posts, then piecing together what lies behind each case. The investigations also reach into clients’ personal histories and how they encountered the anomalies. Azami’s glasses let her perceive other people’s intentions and residual thoughts, adding a character-specific supernatural angle to the evidence hunt. The Center’s director, Ayumu Meguriya, brings another perspective through his clairvoyant ability to divine oddities’ true forms.
The episodic structure gives each investigation room to develop its own urban legend, while the consequences of dissolving a myth can expose unexpected truths. Psychedelic pixel art gives this detective format a distinctive visual identity, balancing familiar casework with surreal subject matter.
