Unplagued casts players as plague-purgers entering medieval villages already overrun by infection. The villagers and creatures have mutated into horrors, setting up a journey through settlements where survival and investigation share the same purpose: uncovering how to make a cure. Rather than presenting a fixed route through one village, the game generates its villages and surrounding areas procedurally.
The cure is assembled from ingredients found while travelling from village to village, and players must discover the right combination. That gives exploration a practical objective: collecting items is part of solving the central problem, not just a detour from combat. The infected monsters and their AI are another stated part of the design, while the deliberately odd Plague Donkey adds a stranger note to an otherwise grim premise.
Unplagued supports solo play as well as online co-op for teams of up to four, with proximity voice chat for companions.
