Unity of Command II is a strategy game about commanding the Western Allies during the Second World War. Its branching campaign offers optional “what-if” objectives that can alter the historical course of operations. Planning and logistics sit alongside battlefield decisions: divisions need supplies, while headquarters on the map direct reorganization and resupply, and help reinforce or recover lost unit strength.
Enemy positions must be discovered through the game’s Fog of War. Players can capture stragglers, launch reconnaissance and use headquarters abilities to uncover enemy positions or defenses. Supply lines remain central to the design, with deep operations focused on severing them and encircling enemy units. Theater assets broaden the available tools: players can sabotage infrastructure, order aerial reconnaissance and bombing, or use air supply to sustain units behind enemy lines.
The game includes an Allied campaign, selected battles playable from the Axis side, and a built-in scenario editor for creating and sharing battlefields through Steam Workshop. Its store listing also identifies single-player, multiplayer, PvP and shared or split-screen play, placing its player-count context alongside both solo operational planning and listed multiplayer formats. Across those formats, the defining strategic concerns are managing information, headquarters and supply while directing WWII operations.
