The Hollow Night is a dangerous realm where Voids feed on its power and In-births pursue their own purposes. Linne, a guardian of the Night Blade, sets out to stop Hilda, leader of the shadowy Amnesia organization, after uncovering a plot tied to a surge in both groups. Hyde, the boy carrying the sword Linne has been seeking, follows her, giving this supernatural conflict a character-driven, light-novel-style frame.

At its core, this is a two-dimensional fighting game built around a roster of 20 characters, each with a distinct fighting style. Its design pairs intuitive controls with combos, while Cross-Cast Veil Off lets a player trigger Veil Off during a combo, launch the opponent with a shockwave, and follow with extra attacks. The system can also open access to special moves such as Infinite Worth during Cross-Cast Veil Off, even when EXS is at 100, giving the game a defined route to high-impact combo play.
