Trine 2: Complete Story brings together Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief, whose contrasting talents make them more than a party of interchangeable adventurers. The wizard conjures boxes and planks, the knight charges through obstacles, and the thief uses rope and arrow to slip past them. The campaign can be tackled alone, switching between heroes, or with others in online or local co-op, so its three-character premise supports both solo problem-solving and shared play.
Its physics-based puzzles invite experimentation rather than prescribing a single solution. Players can freeze goblins with frost arrows, lift a monster and trap it in a box, cross a chasm on the Kitesail Shield, or use a gravity bubble to slow time. Those tools sit alongside platforming, hazards, enemies, and contraptions across a fairytale journey that moves through a seaside castle, burning desert, snowy mountains, and a giant worm. The variety comes from applying character abilities to changing obstacles, not simply advancing through combat encounters.
The documented format is for one to three players, with online and local co-op as well as solo play. The Complete Story also includes the Goblin Menace expansion campaign, placing its puzzle-and-platforming adventure within a broader package.
