Tribes: Ascend is an online multiplayer first-person shooter built around speed, verticality, and team play. Its open battlefields range from frozen wastelands to sprawling cities and jagged mountains, giving combat room to unfold across varied terrain. Rather than treating movement as a way to get from one firefight to another, the game makes it central to how players hunt, escape, and engage.
Skiing removes friction while players hold the space bar, building momentum across large maps. Jetpacks add aerial movement and dogfight-like encounters, while class-based loadouts give players distinct weapons and abilities. Experience earned with a class unlocks its skills and perks, and some of that experience can also advance other classes. Vehicles expand the options further, including the Beowulf tank, Grav Cycle, and flying Shrike.
Matches also build in intensity through a credit system: shooting enemies or supporting objectives earns credits that can fund base defenses, vehicles, or tactical strikes.
