Trials of Innocence is a single-player courtroom detective adventure set in a fictional modern world. Players defend clients accused in murder cases, investigate mysteries, and work toward uncovering the truth. The story follows either rookie lawyer Luna Ray or seasoned attorney Charlie Drake, with cases set in places ranging from a mountain village and haunted house to a research center and skyscraper.
The investigation turns on testimony and evidence: players gather information in court, then use clues to expose witnesses’ lies. When progress stalls, Brainstorm invites a review of known facts for a clue that may have been missed. Confrontation adds direct exchanges with the prosecutor, while Mind Link asks players to connect case-related keywords. These distinct formats make the game’s appeal less about courtroom routine than about piecing together a case through several kinds of deduction.
Its anime-inspired presentation builds on the original artwork, with frame-by-frame character animation, nearly 50 remixed music tracks, and voice acting in Chinese, Japanese, and English.
