Transformice is a free-to-play MMO platformer built around a simple objective: guide a mouse to cheese and bring it back. Rounds are short, with the store description setting a goal of less than two minutes to reach the cheese first. The route is rarely straightforward, though; the game’s physics and hazards can turn a run into a chain of mishaps, making quick movement only part of the challenge.
A changing role gives the group a shared problem to solve. In each round, one player becomes the Shaman, using skills to help the other mice reach the cheese or potentially make their task harder. Saving mice advances the Shaman’s skill-tree progression, which supports building contraptions. Transformice also offers seven official modes, alongside player-made modes and maps, plus a level editor and LUA modules. That mix of authored challenges and user creations is central to the game’s variety.
Its multiplayer format brings many mice together in rounds where individual runs depend on the Shaman’s decisions and the group’s movement. Players can also gather with friends, chat, form a tribe, and compete for titles. Cheese brought back unlocks content, while purchasable items are described as cosmetic and also unlockable through play.
