Train Sim World 5 is a railway simulation built around operating services across routes in London, Frankfurt and Los Angeles. Its routes give the hobby a varied setting: London’s West Coast Main Line links Euston and Milton Keynes, Frankfurt’s Kinzig Valley line runs between Frankfurt and Fulda, and Los Angeles’ San Bernardino Line carries Metrolink commuters through the wider metropolis. The focus is not simply on reaching a destination, but on handling the trains and service patterns that make each railway distinct.
Driving is only one role. Conductor Mode lets players check tickets, operate doors and attend to passenger safety, while the route descriptions also present commuter, regional and freight services. Train choices range from the tilting DB BR 411 ICE-T to the DB Vectron and Metrolink’s F125 and MP36. A live map provides route and station information, and route hopping offers a way to move between stations or compatible, geography-shared routes. Creators Club and Photo Mode add tools for personalising and recording the experience.
It is a focused rail hobby rather than a shared-world format, with its central draw in learning distinct routes and working their services.
