Trailmakers puts vehicle engineering at the center of an adventure on Gregory, a planet whose peaceful frog population is threatened by the resource-stealing BOTNAKs. In the Pioneers campaign, players take on missions, face challenging enemies, and unlock new parts as they travel through different biomes and terrain. The story can be played alone or with others, so exploration and problem-solving sit alongside the game’s creative building.
Its block-based builder supports vehicles assembled from scratch or adapted from pre-made and community creations. Blocks influence qualities such as aerodynamics, speed, functionality, and combat ability, while the game’s physics give those design choices practical consequences. That makes construction more than a cosmetic activity: players can tailor machines to different environments, then test their ideas in action. Combat adds weapons including miniguns, EMPs, lasers, rockets, and shotguns, with battles possible across land, sea, air, and space.
The format ranges beyond the campaign: sandbox maps support shared building and vehicle testing, while Race Island offers tracks and leaderboards; PvP scenarios provide another reason to bring a custom craft into multiplayer.
