Touhou Genso Wanderer -FORESIGHT- casts shrine maiden Reimu into a mystery tied to the fate of Gensokyo. After a defeat in a strange corridor, she wakes at the Hakurei Shrine with her recent memories gone. With Marisa’s help, she explores dungeons and investigates the shrine’s destruction, giving the adventure both a supernatural threat and a trail of clues to follow.
Its dungeon-crawling premise is shaped by repeat battles, character builds, and shrine restoration. Players can enlist 60 Touhou characters, each with distinct spells and abilities, while equipping Reimu with right-hand weapons and left-hand armor. Enemy encounters grant permanent stat boosts, and solving incidents in the Human Village yields stat-raising boards. Materials and treasures gathered from the bestiary feed into rebuilding and outfitting the shrine, linking exploration to a growing home base.
The game is listed as single-player, so its format centers on an individual journey through dungeons, encounters, and investigations rather than shared sessions. Death returns Reimu to the shrine, but the description says upgrades and newly acquired gear are retained; completed levels can also be fast-tracked. That combination frames setbacks as part of a continuing solo expedition, while the roster, equipment choices, and shrine projects give the journey several connected strands.
