A mystery frames Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost: Gensokyo has been destroyed, and Reimu is implicated in its collapse. This officially approved Touhou Project derivative turns that premise into rhythm action, pairing a story about uncovering what happened with a free-play option for focusing on the music.
Its Kagura Stage is a lane-based rhythm game: notes arrive across four or six lanes, and accurate consecutive hits build combos and scores. Danmaku Stage takes a different approach, combining rhythm play with danmaku shoot ’em up action and asking players to complete missions for each stage. Adjustable note speed, display placement and note designs let players tune the rhythm presentation. The documented song selection includes Touhou arrangements, with more than 300 arrangements described across the base game and Extra Song Packs; the game also features more than 100 Touhou characters and animated Live2D presentation.
Its combination of Touhou music, configurable note presentation and danmaku action gives the game a particular identity within rhythm-focused PC play.
