Tormented Souls 2 follows Caroline Walker as she tries to help her sister Anna, whose visions and disturbing drawings bring violence into reality. Their search for relief leads to Villa Hess, a remote town in southern Chile, and a mysterious clinic where the sisters become caught in a new nightmare. The premise sets a psychological, story-led frame for a survival horror adventure through places including a convent, a derelict mall and an abandoned school.
Its central puzzle system connects exploration to supernatural reality shifts: Caroline can move between realities and alter the past to reshape the present, opening alternate routes. Players also examine, manipulate and combine objects, looking for clues and relationships between items and their surroundings. Combat pairs makeshift weapons, including a nailer and chainsaw, with lethal new enemies and boss encounters; a quick-select feature lets players switch weapons during a fight. The narrative also involves other characters with agendas and secrets.
The game offers a choice between classic fixed-camera survival horror with tank controls and limited saves, or an assisted mode for a more casual experience. Its distinct modes shape how the horror is approached, while the game’s core remains Caroline’s journey through Villa Hess and its shifting realities.
