The Precinct casts players as Nick Cordell Jr., a rookie officer patrolling Averno while investigating his father’s murder. Its police-simulation premise is framed as an action sandbox with an explicit 1980s noir influence: routine duties and a personal mystery share the same city, rather than unfolding as separate settings.
On patrol, players respond to crimes that range from parking violations to gang activity, then choose tactics during shootouts and pursuits. Chases can unfold by car or helicopter through destructible environments, and officers can request support such as squad cars, roadblocks, and spike strips. A day-and-night cycle and changing weather give the city’s streets and districts a shifting backdrop, while gang investigations connect street-level policing to wider conspiracies.
That combination makes The Precinct a single-player experience built around an individual officer’s patrols, investigations, and action sequences, not a multiplayer session.
