The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is a single-player RPG set in the Republic of Calvard, where a post-war economic boom coincides with political reform and unease over immigration. Players follow Van, a young Spriggan: an underground agent who works as a detective, negotiator, bounty hunter, or general problem-solver. The story begins when a student brings a strange request to his Arkride Resolution Office, with the case threatening to throw the nation into chaos.
Combat blends real-time field battles with command-based turn battles, and players can switch between the two at any time with a button press. In command mode, they choose among attacks, battle techniques, magic, and items, weighing how those options’ effects work together against tough enemies.
