The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- begins in the Republic of Calvard after the mafia organization Armata’s threat has passed. A massacre of a Central Intelligence Department special operations squad in Edith City unsettles that peace, drawing the Calvard Police and Bracer Guild into an investigation. Spriggan Van Arkride takes up the case after an unexpected visitor arrives, while Agnes searches for the Eighth Genesis, a legacy tied to her great-grandfather. The mystery’s scope also reaches the underground factions beginning to move.
Investigation and changing loyalties are reflected in the LGC Alignment system. Players can adjust characters’ Law, Gray, and Chaos attributes to suit their playstyle; those choices influence character status, which forces they fight with or against, and how the plot unfolds. Combat uses a streamlined version of the predecessor’s system, moving swiftly between field battles and command-based turn battles. The combination gives the RPG both direct encounters and decisions with consequences beyond a single fight.
The story’s central questions, including who committed the massacre and what will become of Agnes’s search, frame an adventure that also offers new challenges throughout Calvard.
