The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- begins with Takumi Sumino’s ordinary routine in the Tokyo Residential Complex shattered by a monster attack. A mysterious being called Sirei grants him the power to fight back, and Takumi wakes at a remote school ringed by otherworldly flames. There, he joins 14 fellow students in the Special Defense Unit, charged with protecting the academy for 100 days as they confront grotesque invaders and struggle to reclaim their former lives.
Its defensive battles use strategy RPG combat: players protect the school and draw on each student’s distinct Specialist Skills. Between attacks, the game shifts to free time and exploration. Takumi can spend time with teammates to deepen bonds or venture into the wilderness and ruins beyond the school; found items can be used to craft gifts for allies. That alternation between tactical defense and character-focused downtime gives the conflict a personal dimension, rather than making the academy’s survival the only concern.
Choices also shape Takumi’s future, with consequences tied to the game’s extreme, despair-filled endings. Its mix of a fixed 100-day crisis, squad-based defense and relationship-building makes the tension between survival and personal connection central to the game’s design.
