The Headliners casts players as journalists navigating New York while mysterious creatures attack. Its objective is not simply to explore a disaster zone: teams must gather striking photographs and escape alive, turning the city’s destruction into the material for a headline. Abandoned streets, buildings, dark alleys and hidden corners provide the setting for that risky search.
Every team member carries a camera, and players choose what to document, from the destruction and alien invaders to a teammate in danger. After a successful escape, the photos are reviewed to see whether they are headline-worthy. That photography-and-survival loop gives the game a distinctive premise: the chaos is both a threat to endure and a subject to frame.
The game supports solo play as well as multiplayer co-op, with teams of one to eight journalists. Expeditions also have a press-card cost: players begin with three, each expedition uses one, and earning more depends on making the headlines.
