The Crew turns a car into both a racing machine and a player’s avatar in a broad, open-world take on the United States. Its five detailed regions range from the streets of New York and Los Angeles to Miami Beach and Monument Valley, with roads and varied terrain connecting the destinations. Driving is not limited to a single kind of course: city streets, hills, fields, canyons, deserts and race tracks all feature in its motoring playground.
Progression ties vehicle building to that changing landscape. Players collect body and performance parts, customize licensed cars, and choose among five tuning specifications: street, performance, dirt, raid and circuit. Perks offer another way to tailor a vehicle to a preferred driving style. The result is a racing game where preparing a ride for different terrain is part of the journey, rather than a separate garage activity.
The online design makes encounters on the road central to the format. Players can form crews of up to four, with cooperation or rivalry shaping activities such as taking down a convoy or escaping police.
