Tetris® Effect: Connected reframes the familiar puzzle of arranging falling Tetriminos as a shifting audiovisual experience. Across its stages, music, backgrounds, sounds and visual effects respond to play, while each setting has its own style and changes as a run unfolds. That synchronized presentation gives the game a strong single-player identity, built around returning to stages to experience their evolving rhythms and visuals.
A defining tactical twist is the Zone: activating it stops time and halts falling pieces. Players can use that pause to escape a precarious board or create extra line clears for bonus rewards. Beyond solo play, the game offers both competitive and cooperative formats. In CONNECTED, three players join their matrices to take on AI-controlled bosses; Zone Battle brings the time-stopping mechanic into a one-on-one match, while Score Attack variants pit players against each other’s scores.
Cross-platform play supports Friend Match rooms, and spectators can join those rooms to watch and use emotes. Across these formats, the changing audiovisual stages and Zone mechanic distinguish this take on Tetris from a straightforward block-stacking contest.
