Terminus: Zombie Survivors casts the player as one of the few people left uninfected after a zombie virus devastates humanity. The goal is to reach the Terminus, but survival can lead to other outcomes: escape by boat or helicopter, join fellow survivors, or pursue a vaccine. The journey unfolds through a city that is generated anew, making the route and its discoveries part of each run rather than a fixed sequence.
Its turn-based system makes every move a resource decision. Movement and other actions spend Action Points, so spending too freely can leave a survivor exposed, while conserving them may mean missing supplies. Hunger, cold, sleep and energy add practical pressures; scavenged materials can become tools or weapons, and food can be cooked. Combat also allows players to choose which parts of a zombie to target. Survivor classes, traits and upgradeable stats further shape the approach, while encounters with NPCs can lead to cooperation, trade or theft.
The game is single-player, with sandbox settings for adjusting elements such as spawn rates and resource availability, alongside scenarios including Frozen Zombies. Its appeal lies in how route discovery, resource planning and branching escape possibilities combine within a replayable survival premise.
